Looking for easy frugal meals? Try one of these favorite soup recipes! They’re all loved by our family and are super tasty.
Soup is the perfect comfort food and these recipes are all frugal, easy and absolutely delicious!

We love homemade soups at our house and it’s not uncommon for us to enjoy them several times a week during the fall, winter and spring months.  Not only are soups delicious and many times comfort food, they also are inexpensive and a great way to stretch your grocery budget, too.

In celebration of January being National Soup Month, I thought it would be fun to share our 12 favorite soup recipes with you!  So here they are, in no particular order.

12 Easy Favorite Soup Recipes

Favorite Soup- Creamy Italian Sausage & Pasta Soup

1.  Creamy Italian Sausage & Pasta Soup

2.  Tomato Basil Parmesan Soup
A great meatless option that is packed full of veggies and can be made in the crock-pot or the stove-top.

Chicken Curry & Rice Soup- favorite soup recipes

3.  Curry Chicken and Rice Soup
We love this delicious twist on the classic chicken and rice combo!  It’s one of those recipes that is perfect to enjoy when it’s cold and blustery out.

Cream Cheese Ham and Potato Soup

4.  Cream  Cheese Potato Soup (with ham)
Creamy, full of flavor and so delicious!  I love the unexpected flavor that the cream cheese gives this soup.

Salsa Chicken Soup- a kind of chicken taco soup

5.  Salsa Chicken Soup
This soup is kind of a chicken version of Taco Soup.  It’s not a “pretty” soup by any means, but it is super quick to throw together and as a result is one of my go-to meals when I am pushed for time.  It’s also delicious enough that I frequently serve it to guests, too!

Hearty Chili and Mac

6.  Hearty Chili Mac
This soup is perfect comfort food and very filling.  It is a bit on the spicy side though, and I usually cut back the chili powder to just 1 ½ Tbsp.

7.  Crockpot Tuscan Bean Soup
I like the unusual combination of beans and potatoes in this simple, delicious soup.  And it’s a perfect recipe to use up ham broth in too!

8.  Creamy White Chili
This satisfying soup is quick to make and always a hit!  I frequently get requests for the recipe when I serve it to guests.

Taco Soup

9.  Taco Soup
Taco soup is such a classic and it always just hits the spot!  Because it is so delicious, filling and easy to make, it’s perfect for serving to large groups too.   Oh, and it freezes well, so go ahead and make extra!

Country Potato Soup

10.  Country Potato Soup
My husband who isn’t a potato soup fan, declared this version to be “pretty good”!  I like that it is creamy and full of flavor, while being inexpensive too!

A blue bowl full of Cheeseburger Soup

11.  Cheeseburger Soup
You can’t go wrong with this cheesy soup.  It’s a favorite with the whole family!

12.  French Onion Soup
Ah, I absolutely love me some French Onion Soup!  Funny thing is, I’m not a huge onion fan, and so for years I assumed that I wouldn’t like this soup.  There’s just something about the rich broth combined with chewy bread and gooey cheese that is simply more-ish!
